MAKE AN IMPACT:

Check out the many ways you can partner with us to make a difference

Africa’s Child was founded in 2009 by Rob and Christa Murphy as they felt God burden their hearts regarding the immense medical needs in the country of Zambia. The first Africa’s Child thrift store was born in Holland, Michigan, just shortly before they left for the field with the dream that this store would not only be able to generate resources to further the work of the organization in Zambia, but also that local customers and volunteers would be connected to God’s heart for Zambia.

During the subsequent years, many lives were changed locally and abroad by this work in America and Africa, but there did exist consistent challenges of managing and connecting a small organization on two continents. 2014 marked a transition point for the organization, as the second thrift store opened in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but it also had become apparent that God was asking the organization to get smaller in order to become a more effective and efficient part of His larger work across the globe. During this time, the direct work of Africa’s Child in Zambia ceased to exist, as we transitioned to a one continent organization with 100% of profits from the thrift stores going to outside ministry partners serving those in need in Zambia.

We at Africa’s Child are so excited to potentially partner with you to accomplish God’s mission in Zambia. We strive to transform lives with financial support by giving 100% of store profits to African ministries and to empower and employ African ministries who share our faith to bring physical, emotional and spiritual healing to orphans, vulnerable children and their caregivers. Will you join us?
